In Chiang Mai, there is the old fortified town. When one has a plan of Chiang Mai under the eyes, this forms a square.
During our stay, we attended the birthday of a great Buddhist master at the Wat Chedi Luang temple (Thank you Cedric). We had the chance to meet Boun and Irene, a French couple and Boun spoke Thai, thanks to him, we had the blessing of the master. He gave us a bracelet each in white cotton to bring the chance.
The temples are beautiful and the gardens of the temples beautifully maintained.
I am astonished, I thought that Chiang Mai was a small town, but in reality, it is very big and there is a lot of traffic.
Our hotels were great and very well located. The 2 hotels are neighbors.
The travel agency of the Cool Guest house is very good, they inform in French (the owner of the place being French), it is appreciable.
The Saturday night market is huge !! On the map it represents a street, but in reality, it makes dozens of large streets, something sick, and it is black people. You can find everything there….
The one on Sunday is really better located, more airy, it is necessary to come early not to have to face the crowd.
During the 7 days, we visited the temples, markets, and took cooking lessons in an organic farm 1 hour from Chiang Mai (Asian Scenic School): we were told about the Thai vegetable garden, their styles of cultivation, we picked the plants that serve to cook, and cooked about ten dishes. A great experience that I recommend to everyone.
